Global Regional Jury Biography

Yow was trained at The Royal Ballet School. He joined the Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet and was soon promoted to Principal Dancer, before moving with them as the company became the Birmingham Royal Ballet. He later danced with Cleveland/San Jose Ballet, and Hong Kong Ballet companies.

 

In 1996, Yow returned to the Royal Ballet School to complete his teaching course for professional dancers and gained a licentiate qualification from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of London.

 

Yow is currently a faculty member of English National Ballet School, having previously taught at Elmhurst Ballet School, The Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, the Laban Centre, and London Studio Centre. He has taught for Hong Kong Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, and the Michael Clark Company, and is regularly invited to teach internationally at summer schools and workshops in the UK, Italy, South Africa, Japan, China and Hong Kong.

 

姚大衛受訓於英國皇家芭蕾舞學校，其後加入蕯德斯·威爾斯皇家芭蕾舞團，並成為首席舞蹈員。在舞團改名為伯明翰皇家芭蕾舞團後，繼續留任。及後加入克利夫蘭/聖荷西芭蕾舞團和香港芭蕾舞團。 

 

1996年，姚大衛返回英國皇家芭蕾舞學校完成專業舞者教學文憑，並獲得了英國皇家舞蹈教師協會的執照資格，他還擁有倫敦大學心理學學士學位。  

 

姚大衛目前是英國國家芭蕾舞學校的講師，他之前曾在艾姆赫斯特舞蹈學校、英國皇家芭蕾舞學校、中央芭蕾舞學校，拉邦中心及倫敦藝術中心任教。此外，他也曾任教於香港芭蕾舞團、辛辛那提芭蕾舞團、邁克·克拉克舞團等舞團。並常被邀到世界各地，包括於英國、意大利、南非、日本、中國及香港，任教暑期課程及工作坊。
