Miho Tsurutani

Former Dancer of

English National Ballet

Japan

After graduating from the Royal Ballet School, joined the English National Ballet as the first Japanese dancer. She danced for Diana, Princess of Wales a number of times, and also danced at major theatres in Europe and Korea. After returning to Japan, danced as the Soloist with the National Ballet of Japan and the K Ballet Company for 10 years.

After retiring from the stage, she returned to the U.K. to study the Cecchetti Method and was awarded The Grety Salomonson Bursary and The Diana Barker Memorial Fund from The Cecchetti Society Faculty Committee U.K. She was awarded the Enrico Cecchetti Final Diploma qualification in 2010, and now holds a Fellowship qualification (highest teaching qualification of Cecchetti Method) from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, Great Britain. 

She established ''The Ballet Garden'' in Tokyo in 2011, and has been teaching the Cecchetti Method since then. She taught as a tutor at the auditions in Japan for the Elmhurst Ballet School, the Royal Conservatory of Scotland and the English National Ballet School, and has been invited to work at various places as a Jury and a tutor for competitions/seminars.
